Good to see Oli backing up his first tournament win quickly. In terms of his year (1993) he should move into the top 5, with just Kubler, Daniel, Carballes Baena and Vesely currently inside 500.

How did you find that info out. I wanted to check that myself but other than going into the profile of every player inside the top 500 that I hadn't heard of I had no idea how to research that.
Am I right in thinking Oli is born in Decemeber of 1993 and is therefore one of the youngest in that year born? Are there any 1994 born players currently ranked higher?

A kind gentleman updates this thread every week which I find to be useful.
I wonder whether this exceptionally impressive display by Oli this week might give him an outside chance of a Wimby MD Wild Card.
More than an outside chance I reckon. The rules normally include a clause allowing them to select junior or 'younger' players for MDWCs, away from the 250 ranking rule based on outstanding performance, and the combination of a Junior Grand Slam and a couple of Futures titles should be enough to trigger that clause for an 18 year old.
Yes, I doubt he'd get a Wimbledon main draw WC 'just' for winning these Futures events, but if he had won junior Wimbledon last year, he would almost certainly have got one, so why not for winning the junior USO? As for whether the powers that be would be inclined to give him a MD WC or not, he got one for Queen's last year, so one for Wimbledon this year would hardly be a surprise.
Whether it would be the best thing for him is a different question, of course (though ranking points in qualifying for the men are so derisory that potentially missing out on them isn't nearly as much of a factor as it is for the women), but he put up a decent show against Mahut at Queen's last year, and it seems he's significantly stronger now than he was then.
It'll be interesting to see where the MD WCs & QWCs go this year. There are quite a number of GB men who could potentially make good use of at least QWCs at the moment but if they stick to their policy of only awarding 8 WCs to Brits (MD & Q combined), quite a few will miss out and have to go through the playoffs.

Oli also has a great game for grass, big forehand, big serve and a very good backhand slice. He also has great hands at the net. He basically dominated every opponent he came up against this week, and for me is going to make a big move up the rankings assuming he stays fit. Top 300 by year end is a very attainable ranking.
