RE: Week 19 - Great Britain F8 ($10,000) - Newcastle - clay

Tweets from Philwrig:

Fitzy still to start, Dan/Kyle warming up.
Playing indoors could be a factor here, as Dan much prefers outdoors.
Dan 3-0 with a double break.

Had a quick chat with Fitzy before his match, problem blister much better, his match will start shortly.

@philwrig
Fitzy takes the 1st set 6-3.
Fitzy breaks at start of second, his opponent getting increasingly frustrated 1-0.
Fitzy had to save multiple BPs but hung tough to hold and now leads 2-0.

Reports on Twitter are that Dan won the first set 6-1 and then Kyle retired

The three Brits in the semis have a pretty good record in Futures semis so far this year - Dan 3-0, Fitzy 2-1 and Oli 1-0, i.e. 6-1 overall. Let's hope it becomes 8-2 overall and not 7-3 after the semis here!

Nice match-up Fitzy v Smetty

Would give Dan the edge if it's played on clay, but who knows?

Another excellent week for Team Fitzy whatever.

Fitzy tweeted:-

Into the semi's with a 63 62 win. (Indoors). good to make another semi's and keep the form. Only option is outside later #carnage

Err who knows?

Fitzy now tweets:-

Just started raining after seeing the sun for half an hour. Just incredible! Chucking it down now....brilliant

 Indoors looks odds on.
