So glad for Mel. I thought by now she would have thrown in the towel. She has such a good game and should be safley inside the top 100 right now.

I hope this isn't a flash in the pan but is the start of Mel making a massive comeback better than ever.

Hopefully it is not just because of the grass!!!

I still remember that training session she went on just after she broke into the top 100!!! There was more to that than what was let on at the time

Shame but a great week and I'm so delighted to see Mel back playing well.

I remember that training block. Her first match back was that 1st round at the French against Larcher de brito. Nick Bolletierri was watching and said she played great. Mel almost took that one in the 2nd and if she had you'd imagine her confidence would have sky rocketed. Instead she had a tough loss to contend with going into the pressure of the grass season. I trace it back to that match when things starting going a bit wrong for mel (not that she hasn't had decent results since).

The break sounds rather suspicious now. I took it at face value - she was exhausted after making it into the top 100 and wanted to put herself in the best position physically and mentally to compete at tour level...

Mel served for that match at 6-0 5-4 and was 30-30. Should have won it. She's never been the same since.

A good week for Mel. Shame she couldn't win the semi as Monique is not THAT good. But a step forward nonetheless

Great to see Mel having a much better week.  So hope she takes real confidence from this into the next few months.
