Hopefully Laura can draw one of the easier qualifiers and the overall draw could have been much tougher.

Good decision to start the clay with a 25k. I hope it works out, even just a couple of wins here would be good

Will be interesting to see how Laura gets on in this event given I only remember her playing once on red clay in the last 3 years.

I dunno. I thinks it's very suss !!  There  must be some other reason  as well to get her in Switzerland right now. Some favourite band of hers playing or something?  biggrin

Robbo's partner for the doubles not exactly out of the top draw. Unranked local Swiss player didn't even play in the singles qualifying.

Yeah, I thought the same. Sponsor, appearance money?

Hehe. I'm not sure if you're being facetious here, Helen?

Maybe she wasn't planning to play doubles but then at the last minute decided the extra game time on the clay was worth it?

That sounds more likely! I don't think there's much appearance money on offer at 25Ks with free entry to spectators!

Kozlova is a month younger than Laura and her best surface is clay but should be beatable if Laura puts up a par or better performance.

Abit facecious, but more just scractching my head as to why she'd want to play a 25k

At the back end of last year I heard the tennis pundits discussing Laura, after an interview with her, and they pointed out that her schedule was badly planned or not planned.

So I think it's more likely that there's some last minute booking with thinking more along the lines of  ... 0h the clay season is coming where can we get you in some practice quickly? there's a 25k in europe where you'd get in as a DA, if you play doubles with someone, doesn't matter who, then a bit more practice.
