What a win for Luke, those weeks training with Greg have really proved the catalyst for a great couple of months for Luke.

Yes, he'll be the youngest Brit on the ATP singles rankings on Monday week - he is 13 days younger than Kyle.

Well done to Luke - it must be unusual for someone to beat a top-400 player to get their first ranking point.

No doubt Steven-the-detective will find a few examples!

Well done Luke.

Good to see him continuing his junior form at a higher level this week.

Far too much work on today, I'm afraid ... else I probably would be tempted!  LOL I can remember a couple of big wins by young Brits to get first ranking points but can't remember the exact details and whether the opponents were players ranked that high.

One feat that does come to mind is Alex Ward qualifying, getting his first ranking point with a R1 win and going on to reach the Final in Spain F19 almost exactly 4 years ago but I think the highest-ranked player he beat on that run was in the 400s.

Brilliant 3 weeks for Luke. As JtB surmises the usual way of gaining your first ranking point is via a kind draw - and this was far from that. It means that there's bound to be a junior in the quarter-finals at least
