i presume this is indoors as naomi broady stated that it is still raining

If it is indoors it's odd that the scores have been stuck at 7'6, 5'3 for so long.

confuse

I think they were trying to play outdoors on the clay as much as possible so although the 3 covered courts at The Gardens were reserved all day yesterday they didn't use them.  Opted instead to wait until 3pm for the weather to clear and play at West hants.

And a question for Stephen. Saw that Oakley/Short did a nice job in the final, even if they lost. And of course a super job in the semis over two junior Grand Slam/Olympics winning doubles players. But looking at the draw, the semi-final was actually the first match that they played. Great that they'll get finalist points. What would have happened had they lost the semi-final? Would they still have had semi-final points, despite having made it that far via two walk-overs?

Oh, and of course ... congratulations to Messrs Fitzpatrick and Golding. Well done to them both. What a year it's been.

Nice report, Daisy. No-one blames you for watching Fitzy-Bloomers ;shows you how absorbing it was.

Fitzy has definitely discovered an inner strength from somewhere.

Seems he always had the tools ( his junior record was exemplary ) but perhaps not the mental strength.

I would have thought game over at 1-2 with a break down in the final set, the same as you.

No cause is a lost cause now for Fitzy it seems.

Rubbish weather forecast for the south today so it might be a passing shower that has halted play?  Thanks for the heads up on where to find the scores though.
