This is a little bit off-topic ... but the highlights reel for Friday on this tournament is both fascinating and rather lovely. It's not their usual fairly slick camera set-up. There's a lot of Simon/Kubot and Bachinger/Brands ... and as you watch the stadium looks not-wholly-full, and you wonder "Why does Bucharest pay to hold an ATP tournament?" And then you get the film of Linstedt/Tecau playing. Not only do you get a lot of fun-to-watch doubles ... multiple times what you'd normally get from ATP highlights! ... but when Tecau and his partner win, and the camera focuses on the crowd, you can see that the stadium is pretty jam-packed, and the place is going wild. The two doubles players come out, bow, wave ... Great to see support for the home players, and to see them enjoying themselves.
Meanwhile Attila Balazs is pulling off a "Bloomfield at Newport" run ... can he go one farther?
