You could tell over the DC weekend, particularly against Goffin on the Sunday that Josh has really worked on his game and makes the most of his weapons which is admirable. If he can now transfer that form into Challenger level, it would be another big step forward
What was that pessimistic quote at the beginning of the week about having all these top seeds but it being unlikely that any would win!
Well I know one chap had doubts all 3 would triumph

Three Brits are no. 1 seeds in Futures this week - what chance 3 titles? (approximately zero, I imagine)
To be fair, I think that based on experience many folk would have thought the same. It's great that it worked out for all 3 this week and as Steven says, while it may "just" be futures it is worth celebrating these titles and hopefully they can take more confidence into challengers and the summer grasscourt tournaments.
LOL I certainly didn't say I didn't think any would win, but yes, I thought I'd said something about it being highly unlikely that all three would triumph (why try to find it on one of the threads when I knew someone else was bound to dig it up LOL ) and I'm very happy to have been proved wrong!
And yes, as Indiana implies, it links into my comment after the wins that while we shouldn't get over-excited about Challenger-level players (that's supposed to be a compliment to them!) winning Futures titles, it's still not that easy to win a Futures event even if you are the clear top seed.
I doubt the bookies would rate the probability of a top seed winning any Futures event at more than about 1 in 3 unless there was a player in there who was clearly ridiculously under-ranked or was on a long winning streak. That would have made the probability of all three of them winning this week less than 1 in 25. Even if that's not quite as low as 'approximately zero' , for all three of them to go on and do it is definitely well worth celebrating.

Many apologies for being too lazy to look up what was said originially. I somehow remembered it as being that it was unlikely that any of them would win.
With Josh now more or less certain to be top 250 when consideration is given to Wimbledon British WCs ( he is WR 242 even before these future title points get added and nothing to come off before Wimbledon ), I trust Josh will be a main draw WC along with James and Jamie.
This would be a good reward for the very clear efforts he's made to improve his fitness and game generally in the last year and get his ranking back up.
