Back from the most exciting four sets of live tennis I've ever been at, given that although I was there throughout the other two days, for boring reasons, I was only there from the start of Wardy's 5th set on Sunday.
I went from voice virtually recovered to hoarse in one set (Wardy's 5th), an unbelievable mental effort after Friday's disappointment and against such an experienced player, and as for Evo, well! I believed we'd won at the end, but surely I was dreaming those last 10 games (I think he won 9 of the last 10?)
Believe it or not, it's only the 2nd time this century that 2 different Brits have both won live singles rubbers against top 100 opponents in the same DC tie - the other time was when Tim and Greg both beat Melzer in Pörtschach in 2004 ... and then Austria won the tie 3-2 anyway!
The DC site isn't functioning if I try to go back and find out the last time it happened and we won, so I'll have to check that tomorrow.
