A win by retirement, so no idea how well JoKo had to play to get the win, will play a non seed next so more chances to progress. That should secure her spot on the French Open qualie field ranking wise.
First year she has been injury free, and now we're really seeing how good she is. Got a big game and thats what you need to really progress.
If she is a good as we all hope, she will hopefully be battling up with Hev and Laura rather than with Naomi
I think she's already on a par with Hev and Laura, just hasn't had the same opportunities due to the citizenship process taking so long, and niggly injuries.

I haven't given up hope of Naomi one battling up with Hev and Laura either ... but yes, although the three pairs I mentioned look like the main GB ranking battles in the short term, it's more than possible that one or more of them could bridge one of the gaps - hopefully by moving up rather than becauise someone else drops down!
Looking at the YTD points (2012 only, not the WTA race), the six of them are in a very different order:
264 Anne (234 before Copenhagen) 151 JoKo (105 before Copenhagen) 139 Heather 93 Laura 92 Bally 73 Naomi
... then a big gap to Samantha with 29 and Fran with 24, who are the only other Brits to have picked up more than 20 WTA singles points so far this year.

If I remember right, it's points since the last WTA YE champs (since it is the race to those championships, that would make sense) - similarly with the ATP race, it's points since the last WTF. That's a bit of an arbitrary cut-off for most of the Brits, who won't get to the YECs and whose 2011 season continued after this year's YECs, which is why I count from 1 Jan ... even though it could be argued that's a bit arbitrary too!
