Oh my To have three Brits seeded to qualify and not one Brit even make the FQR is shocking. bleh

I assume some of the opponents were under-ranked college 'ringers' (always a danger in US Challenger Qs and Futures) but even so, what a disaster weekend. cry

Some good news - Lu has pulled out, so if Jamie can get past Sandgren, he won't have to play the top seed in R2.

A fair bit of Brit interest in the doubles qualies:

QR1:  (1)  Adham El-Effendi (USA) & Darren Walsh vs (WC) Gerardo Azcurra & Mark Oljaca (ARG/USA)

QR1:  Ed Corrie & Olivier Sajous (HAI) vs(2) Artem Sitak & Blake Strode (NZL/USA)

and, at least  at this stage, the expected two confirmed pairs in the main draw, one of them with a crap draw:

R1:  (3) Carsten Ball & Bobby Reynolds (AUS/USA) vs Chris Eaton & Dominic Inglot

R1:  (WC) Dominic Cotrone & Anderson Reed (USA/USA) vs David Rice & Sean Thornley

*  The qualifiers will face Alex Kuznetsov & Mischa Zverev (USA/GER).

Much as I applaud Ed's exploits, I can't help feeling Boggo would've stood a better chance of overcoming Gard in QR2 & Strode in the FQR. hmm  Needless to say, neither Gard nor Trombetta survived the FQR...

They are already in as a LL (and would have known about the LL place beforehand as the match they are about to play was scheduled before the qualifying match).
