Hang in there, George, it's still only one break.

Sterling effort against the WR266 ( said he was 244 yesterday, sorry! ). Should give him confidence for the future. *0-5

GSM Michon 6-4, 4-6, 6-0. Pity about the final set bagel. Does not detract from an excellent performance against a player ranked 400+ places higher. Well done!!

Steven, quick question please.

The Greece F2 acceptance list shows Fitzy still ranked at 704. Will they be using the old ranking when seedings are decided for the main draw? Looks as if he'll make a seeding if they use his latest WR.

Seeding is based on the latest rankings list, so Fitzy will be seeded (assuming all the other players haven't had equally dramatic improvements in their rankings too).

SMC is basically correct, though to be strictly accurate (just in case it ever makes a difference), the seedings are based on the players' rankings the Monday before the tournament week. So, for example, if the main draw is done on Monday rather than Sunday, they will use the previous Monday's rankings to do the seedings even if the new rankings due to come out on the day of the draw are already available.

Thank you all. Another supplementary has sprung to mind. In view of the fact he has no points to defend this week, does this mean he might be ranked higher next Monday?
You never know, I might actually work out how this ranking business operates before I expire

Well seeing as he has two points still to come on from this tournament, yes.

But even if that wasn't the case then maybe, you could work it by looking at the number of corresponding futures from week 13 last year, if it was more last year then the answer is probably he will go up a couple of places.
