Even if it was Golubev taking the injury time-out (and even if that injury played a part), I think this is a very good result indeed against a player who has been ranked 33 and was on a 7-match winning streak in ATP/slam qualies - Wardy's serving looks to have been very good indeed, 72% 1st serves in and winning 76% when they did go in, taking 4 bps out of 6 and saving 2/3.

Is there something in the air in Miami? Of the first six matches played, only Dino's & Benoît Paire's (q5) were actually completed. In the other four, ERV, Kamke (q2), Veic (against the q21, Zemlja) & Goffin (against the q17, Zopp) all won when their opponent retired!
