And Vika it is, bah. Beat Krajicek 6 - 3 7 - 5. Pity Heather couldn't have lined up a more feasible candidate than that, but just give it your best, girl !
R3 (L32) : (1) Victoria Azarenka (BLR) WR 1 vs (WC) Heather Watson WR 129
I'm very hopeful she'll avoid the double bakery of her previous two matches against Vika at the very least! That's the first target anyway. She was winning a lot more points than the final scoreline suggested at the AO too.

Hev was 4/1 to win today, which I thought was a ridiculous price after what happened against Cirstea. I had a feeling coming back from 0-5 down against a top opponent was going to be huge for Heather, and thankfully I was right. Possibly now showing the Sharapova form, but winning and I just hope Vika is a little off her game, so that Hev can make it very competitive, and so leave here with huge momentum going into the remainder of the season.
Vera having a bad time of it this year, 56th in the "race". Not beaten a top 50 player this year, though only got as far as meeting two.
Though I see that she retired in Pattaya and Doha, both times from pretty competitive looking positions and gave a W/O before her scheduled second match in Indian Wells, so obviously has been having some problems.
but the result which arguably eclipses Hev's is the defeat by the 18-year-old Garbiñe Muguruza (WR 208), also a WC, of Vera Zvonareva (9) by 4 & 3!

Indeed ! I tried to post a similar comment last night, but when a copy/paste failed me on her name I gave up.
Ksenia's victory over Fran is interesting too. With the exception of McHale, some of the youngsters are perhaps coping better with the humid heat of Florida than their seniors?

Garbine goes from being defeated by Amanda Carreras a couple of years ago (though she got her own back the next few times they met) to besting zvonareva! Heck of a progression!
She plays on the stadium court at 7.30pm (12.30am GMT) tonight/monday morning. Eurosport's coverage finishes at 11.45pm so I don't know whether they will extend their coverage.
