Good news for Fitzy - both seeds in his quarter went out today, so he's the highest-ranked player left in it. Also Benneteau showed what a good effort it was to eat him last week by taking out top seed Weintraub today!
L32: (Q) Ashley Hewitt WR 1111 lost to Adam Chadaj (POL) WR 636 by 2-6 6-4 6-1 L32: Andrew Fitzpatrick WR 704 beat (WC) Saar Steele (ISR) WR 1051 by 1 & 4
L16: Andrew Fitzpatrick WR 704 v (Q) Viktor Filipenko (HUN) WR 1289
well you know i have a good appetite and benneteau is a big dude so that is no mean feat!
moving on, i have played french league but asigned myself to a dodgy agent other played recommended. Played it the last 3 years being under payed and put in ridiculous situations like in a house where the husband just lost his wife 2 months previous and at the start of that year his daughter hung herself in the house, i was placed into this 'house' to help him recover. Horrific, the 'house' was more like a bin. So thats an insight into a little bit of problems i have had with french league!
Never dabbled in german league because i dont have a contact to get out there.
See what i can do today in my singles, the guy i play today is hungary's version of soderling, just not as good. Mix soderlings game style with a rafa grunt and thats him.
L16: Andrew Fitzpatrick WR 704 beat (Q) Viktor Filipenko (HUN) WR 1289 3 - 6 6 - 2 6 - 3 ( as per ATP / ITF, slightly better than Fitzy tweeted himself )
QF : Andrew Fitzpatick WR 704 vs Lukas Jastraunig (AUT) WR 741
The Austrian is also aged 22 with a CH of WR 731 from late last year, a fellow slightly later developer, having been outside the top 1000 until last October. No matches showing in his activity record for 2012 on the ATP site.

"Just won 64 36 63. Getting some serious court time in israel. Pleased with how I'm finding a way to win no matter my standard"
Back to back semi's, you can't help but be impressed!
Especially since that's twice as many Futures singles semis as he had reached in his whole career up to the end of last year
Seems incredible that it was only about a year ago that Fitzy was playing well at times but just not winning matches - it's been a great transformation to follow and it'd be interesting know what different elements have gone into it.
Today's win should take Fitzy up to about WR 610 post-Miami (up nearly 100 from 704 now) and up from GB 21 to GB 16, ahead of all the GB teenagers.
Fitzy will also turn 23 in a couple of weeks' time ranked more than 100 places higher than my standard example of a late developer, Marc Gicquel (WR 731 on his 23rd birthday, eventual career high 37) and he still has 16 months to get into the top 500 at a younger age than Gicquel did.

GB on a shirt, Davis Cup still gleaming, 79 years of hurt, never stopped us dreaming ... 29/11/2015 that dream came true!
I've never seen him play, so I wouldn't know what his strenghts are; however he seems to have one crucial asset, that many of our tennis players dont have, which is great mental strength. Keep up the good work
Yes, Arsene Wenger will have been impressed
Good stuff, Fitzy, all the best in the semi final.
