A few people have mentioned about being a bit excited about a futures win. Well why not. Those that post regularly and those like me who read the posts every day really care about British Tennis................no matter what the level.
The general public beleive that tennis only matters at Wimbledon, which is why they beleive that Tim Henman for example is a loser. They have no care or knowledge of someone who won many big titles, hung in and/or around the top ten for years and banked a small fortune.
We message boarders no better and that is why we are all so chuffed for players like Fitzy. Doing their best on meagre resources to follow a dream. Quite rightly Fitzy has thanked us for our support but in truth, we should all thank him for making us part of his first Futures success.
So well don everybody........a big win for Team Fitzy.

Yes! I didn't have time to post until now but massive congrats Fitzy! May this be the 1st of many titles and hopefully you can keep the ball rolling this week if you're not too tired after all those close matches! It's safe to say you are playing well above your ranking (even the new one in the 550's) so keep working hard and build on this.
Also, nice choice of racquet (exo3 tour), I play with the older ozone tour maybe I can get some of the Fitzy magic going :)
bartman if your after some of the magic i think i will be looking to get rid of my old rackets when i get back from here as i have a new batch potentially from prince (lucky me). I might keep the one i won the tournament with for sentimentals and all that.
Thanks for the screen shot of the lta home page, they seemed to have been relatively supportive of my win, even though it was a two line summary. I still feel there is ALOT more to come and this is just the start, im in great shape so physically i can do another 3 weeks of 3 setters back to back thats not an issue, ive always taken the physical side of my game very seriously and am known for that.
thanks again for the support it means most to the players coming from people who appreciate tennis. The amount of comments i get, this is a daily conversation for me. hi, what do you do? i play professional tennis. oh really, so are you the next tim henman? i wish, maybe one day really? he was rubbish, he never won anything..... then i just smile and walk away.
sums alot of the british public up, how a guy can get to 4 in the world and stay top 10 for most of his career and be viewed as a failure is beyond me.

People actually say that about Henman to your face? I thought it was just something trolls posted on Internet forums! I mean, the odd quip about 'the things he put us through at Wimbledon' or 'he was never quite good enough to challenge players like Sampras' or a bit of Tim/Greg banter in the old days was fine, but to actually say he was rubbish ...
You can be pretty sure the people saying that haven't achieved 0.0001% in their own field of what he achieved in tennis. In my experience, those who do achieve things in their own walk of life tend to realise how much work goes into it and if they know anything about tennis as well, they would also realise that even being in the top 1000 in tennis takes a lot of doing!
One thing I will say after seeing a bit of that doubles Final in Zurich - Tim seems to have lost none of his volleying abilities.

The win might be just the 2 lines, but if you click on the link on the lta site for the tournament there are some of your tweets and your progress, not exactly on a daily basis, but stuff written on about 4 days of the tournament.
No way! Well depending on the specs I would definintely be interested in a couple of those.
'As used by pro player Andrew Fitzpatrick'....sounds quite cool

ok guys i will definitely keep you in the loop with my rackets, but i will mention that they are custom to me. They have my name on it, probably the best thing i own! weight is 333g, balance 30 and grip size 3.
Tough day today mentally. i believe i can replicate last week again.

OK. So how many do you have? With all those interested on here, maybe you should auction them off to raise funds for you travel !! I would probably join the bidding process.
