11 of the last 13 games from a set and 2-5 down against the no. 7 seed and he's the first Brit to make a Challenger singles QF this year - not a bad afternoon's work!

That's terrific news to come home to: he was trailing by 4-6 *1-4 when I left the office, convinced he was dead & buried! Thanks for proving me wrong, JB! Well done, lad!
I wonder whether he might have been breaking his career high but for the injury - wonder whether that (abdominal muscle?) is truly fixed now.
over the last 12 months my back of an envelope says that in main draw challengers (including this week) the various brits W/L is
wardy 16/13
baker 17/14
boggo 10/9
evo 5/8
josh 0/6
I imagine Wardy's mind is elsewhere - though I'm sure some people would say he should tackle a few challengers and get used to winning again. Also I get the feeling that Jamie's had some nice draws in the past 12 months and perhaps his willingness to travel makes it easier than for Josh who seems to play European challengers.
Following the live score - it looked like he'd been taking tips from Andy on setting up a juicy 2nd serve for his opponent to hit - the stats became less awful as the match progressed - but 2nd serve points won was a huge difference in the 1st set.
