Pity, but (without checking) I can't imagine many Brits manage to take a set against a top 250 player in their first Challenger main draw match.

Considering Liam hasn't been in the best of form recently, it is actually quite encouraging.

That's a really good looking effort from Liam there.

Jounan is up to WR 216 this week ( close to his CH of WR 211 ) having reached the final of a French futures a couple of weeks ago, beating Yannick Merten WR 208 very comfortably in the semis and losing to Kenny De Scheppers WR 166 in the final.

So, on the face of it, does look encouraging.  Hopefully Liam is finding better form again and can take that into futures and start getting them points on the board.

liam played really well in the 1st set, looked good with ground strokes and serving. It was his serving that let him down in the last two sets from what i saw

Liam has been going in the right direction for quite a while, just not getting the number of wins he would like. With a favourable draw at a futures event I think he could easily make the later stages on his current form.
