With early losses for others, Jamie looks like he is back in the live doubles top 20 and well positioned to stay there once Shanghai is done, looks like there is only really 1 behind him who can overtake him this week. Hes live 19th this morning.
Plaudits for plugging away, hes certainly worked hard with little fanfare in doing it.
Jamie has been named as the Tournament Director for Queens in 2024. It does mean he won't be playing, but he has expressed an interest in the events side of tennis.
There's a lot of tennis players who I think are not suited to move across to the 'management' side of things
But Jamie has shown in that Scotland v England/Wales thing he organised (and wasn't there the other things during covid?) that he's really rather good at this sort of thing
Good luck to him
If he could organise free entry to qualifiers again, that would be appreciated, Jamie !

I think Jamie and his career have been undervalued - well done to him on a great doubles career and hopefully more to come.
In the context of plaudits and recognition given to doubles players I think he has been given fair value over the years, and in his own right rather than as Andy's brother. Whether the top British doubles players and top doubles players generally should be given more recognition would be a separate question.
Anyway big congrats to Jamie Murray OBE on such a landmark and still winning at the top level when I think quite a few questions were were being asked by some a year or two back.

He's got a weak forehand and he's not much of an athlete which really lets him down in singles as opponents can exploit that. He's a serve-volleyer and has a really big leftie serve as he's 6ft 3 and he's got a fab sliced serve out wide. Like his brother, he needs to improve his 1st serve consistency but if he does that he could do well. He's got great hands and touch at the net which is why he's so good at doubles. Even if he doesn't make it at singles, he could make it to the top 100 at doubles if he keeps improving and finds a partner who he can move onto the challenger tour with
