Pity  cry

But no doubting Anne has been easily the best GB ranking points gatherer this year so far and indeed generally best performer.  Much more impressive start than last year ( although actually her points, helped largely by the Aus Open, weren't too bad last year )

Ranking points earned this year :

1. Anne Keothavong 233
(   Jo Konta                 91 )
2. Elena Baltacha        87
3. Naomi Broady         72
4. Laura Robson         71
5. Heather Watson     58

According to TF Anne will play Cornet in her semi-final. Cornet beat the other Pliskova 6-1 6-1.

Oops, yes, she may be no spring chicken any more (though she may have felt like one given who her first two opponents were this week!) but she's not Methuselah either

Another bad result leaves GB 0-6 in singles today

SF: (3) Anne Keothavong WR 77 lost to Alizé Cornet (FRA) WR 114 (CH 11 in 2009) by 3 & 2 bleh

Onto next week then ...

Bah, nearly    cry

Janette Husarova (SVK ) / Katalin Marosi (HUN)  beat  Eva Birnerova (CZE) / Anne Keothavong (GBR )   6 - 1   3 - 6   ( 10 - 6 )

Actually, although I've had issues with some drawsheets on the ITF site, I'm seeing this one fine and it's also showing in the results.

It looks as if Anne and Birnerova must have lost the doubles final in a 3rd set doubles tie break cry.gif  

but part of the score is missing because of the failings of the new ITF website.  angered.gif
