RE: Week 11 - ITF ($100+HK) - Nassau, Bahamas Hard

Anne:

"Got the win in singles + dubs after a few rain delays. A lot of players not happy with tournament organisation though. In fact, all players."

QF: (3) Anne Keothavong WR 77 v (Q) Karolina Pliskova (CZE) WR 132

Karolina is the higher-ranked of the pesky Pliskova twins and the one who won the AO girls' title in 2010.

The scoreline yesterday was 3 & 3, it turns out. Craybas was the runner-up here last year btw.

thanks - where can you see the scores? I couldn't find an OOP anywhere, or a link for ls.

There are daily OoPs on the tournament site at http://www.thebahamasopen.com/ but that seems to be the only bit of the site that gets updated - there seem to be no results on there at all (not even end of day ones)

I'm pretty sure the only scores coming through (apart from end-of-day results on ITF, which have been very late each day so far) are being picked up from players' own sites or tweets.

I check 'Tennis Forum' quite often and you can pick up info there. I think there might have been  a poster (fan not  an official) who was on site at the tournament.  Or like Steven said they got the info from  a player's site?

 and thanks again!smile

If you go into the OOP, and scroll down the page the drawsheets are there, singles then doubles - obscure - yes!

Anne was the one player who managed to beat the rain!

QF: (3) Anne Keothavong WR 77 beat (Q) Karolina Pliskova (CZE) WR 132 by 5 & 4

SF: (3) Anne Keothavong WR 77 v Alizé Cornet (FRA) WR 114 (CH 11 in 2009) or Krystyna Pliskova (CZE) WR 148 (= CH)

So, Zhang faces the GB Superkids 1-2 in Clearwater and Anne may face the Pliskova 1-2 here! Against Cornet, the H2H is 1-2, all straight sets. Alizé won at the 1007 AO and at Fčs in 2010 but Anne won their last meeting at Eastbourne last year.

Looking at Anne's activity on the WTA site, as far as I can see she has been in one 100K final before and has a 100% success rate.

In November 2008, as WR 75, she beat Monica Niculescu of Romania, then WR 53, in 3 sets. in Krakow, Poland.

Edit :  don't know why I even looked, Stevan was always going to get in just before  wink

Edit: oops, that's what happens when you write a post and have to dash for the phone and the call lasts 20 minutes wink

Anne has also picked up a very healthy 80pts so far.........150pts if she can take the title.

Had a quick look at Wikipedia and couldn't tell for sure - has Anne won a 100K before?

Yes, she won a $100K+H title in Kraków in 2008 - the biggest title of her career so far.
