Badly needed win for Hev, I was pretty confident though that she would win today, as her form hasn't been that bad. Certainly wasn't easy and will need to pick it up to contend at the end of the tournament but a good start. Playing matches at this level I believe will be good for Hev as she has the battling and the style of game qualities to be naturally effective at this level. Should win her 2nd round match to be against Lim, before it gets much tougher against hopefully Laura ( if she has rediscovered her best form ).
Is it not just 6 ? Anne 6 - 4 6 - 4 in Doha, Arvidsson ( the eventual title winner ) 6 - 2 6 - 3 in Memphis and Wozniak 6 - 4 6 - 4 in IW.
Yes, you're right, but while it should have dawned on me that it was wrong, I'm going to put most of the blame for that on the pathetic ITF site 'upgrade' - why on earth do they (in Hev's activity record) show Pattaya (6 Feb) in between Doha (11 Feb) and Memphis (19 Feb)

Yes, pity about the ITF site. As someone ( you ? ) remarked the folk that use the ITF site are lilely to very much want proper functionality and clarity over prettiness.
I've always tended to use the ATP and WTA sites for activity. Look now to be moreso the place to go.
But it seems many folk found the ITF site a very good all in one shop before and are now finding bits better in ATP and WTA sites, and opening separate windows, which is all very annoying. Real pity.
