Fitzy, you ever thought of doing a Dustin Brown and hiring a camper van to live out of as you travel round Europe ?
He got to the stage where he couldn't afford to continue so his parents came up with the idea of buying the van. It meant that even a first round losers cheque in a futures would pay for food and petrol for the following week so took away some of the financial pressure and he continued with it for at least 6 years till he cracked top 100.
my mum is thinking of buying one of those now as she is struggling with house costs and is a big walker. The thing with buying a van like that is, a second hand one would still cost alot and if you get it wrong you could be paying so much money to keep it going, and a decent second hand one will cost around 8-10 thousand pounds. Thats not the sort of money i have!
Ive not looking into it as much as i should have maybe but my mum seems to be struggling to find anything in the ball park financially so i think i would have no hope! had a few conversations with leon and paul who i know really well and respect, they are keen to help but obviously but its just how. Hopefully they come up with something.
Yes, just caught that about to finish on bet365 - not a good day for him. Still, another point gained this week, they all help - and he now shares the lead in the ATP race this year among Brits who were teenagers at the start of 2012:
4 Morgan & Burton 3 Golding & Marsalek 2 Gabb, Whitbread & Hudson 1 Broady, Edmund, Meehan, Carpenter & Martin
(admittedly, that shows more than anything what a lean start to the year they've had ... and also how hard ATP points are to come by for teenagers these days)

Fitzy won again though, in very windy conditions ... so his draw now opens up even more
L16: Andrew Fitzpatrick WR 704 beat Antoine Benneteau (FRA) WR 723 by 4 & 3 L16: George Morgan WR 707 lost to (4) Alessandro Bega (ITA) WR 590 by 1 & 1

Hope it's a race among the tortoises and that quite a few will come haring through later on in the year
hi guys another good day all around in ridiculous wind today. hopefully it dies down otherwise it is anyones game! Thanks so much for all of that information on the camper van steven, i will for sure put something together when i get home, i have saved your post and will do it when i have time while im out here or when i get home. i currently dont have anywhere to stay from friday morning! So trying to sort that out as i dont have the money for a hotel.
time to turn on the charm around the tennis club :)
These 6 poins earned for reaching at least the semis will take him to 31 ranking points and probably into the top 650 ( after the Miami fortnight ), smashing past his current CH of WR 691 from late last year.
No ranking points to defend either before June ( and then only 7 before September ) so real chances to move up significantly further if he can just get to these tournaments.
A guy truly moving in the right direction on the court who you can only wish the best for !
