Laura clearly has alot of issues at the moment, which of course we are not privy to.
I really don't think an awful lot more than basically not having had an off season and missed so much training and practice to work on her consistency.
Maybe would have hoped for a little more, but gee lets not overdramatise this unless you think you've heard of possible other issues ?
Both Heather and Laura seem to be short of form and confidence at the moment. Laura struggling to even be competitive in matches after the first few games which is a bit more worrying, but hopefully if she can remain fit and healthy her performances will pick up. I think Heather just needs a couple of wins to get going again.
It might not be a bad thing for both girls to step back down to the ITF tournaments after Miami to try and regain form against lower standard opponents before returning to the WTA circuit.

Stress fracture, wrist, back, and Tonsilitus to name but 4 relatively recent issues. I watched an out of sorts Laura at Nottingham last year, when she was losing but reasonably competitive. This though the way she just seemed to fully fall apart without winning many points, especially on her serve which is a strength, is a big concern.
Both Heather and Laura have their names down for the Clearwater £25K next week instead of the Nassau £100K where Elena and Anne are listed. So it looks as if they have decided to try and get a few wins under their belts.

That does seem good thinking from the pair of them.
Great draw for Bally, hope she can take advantage of this one and build some confidence. Nearly ditto with Annie K's draw with Timea easing her way back after a long layoff, but more dangerous than Rus.
Yes, the scorelines for Bacsinszky's two losses since her return from injury suggest that she might be dangerous (though this is still not a bad time to draw her!) - funnily enough, her last two wins were against Arvidsson and Larsson in a Fed Cup World Group II playoff last April ... wouldn't we like a piece of that!
