You may remember Reus, near Barcelona, as the place where Robert Dee got his first win in Futures qualies. There are 4 Brits in a 4-round qualies draw this year:

4 rounds of qualifying. Cripes ! Is that common in Futures?
It is virtually the norm in Florida (and California, if I remember right) plus some other US Futures, quite common for clay court Futures in Spain and if I remember right, some of the Turkish Futures have had big qualifying draws as well.
It tends to happen in places where there are big tennis academies nearby, and hence a steady stream of budding pros wanting to give qualifying a go.
As a rule of thumb, if Ed Corrie has played somewhere recently, there's a good chance they often have 128-player qualifying draws

Kyle wins in a 3rd set tiebreak. On the march again !!
And Jack hands out a double bagel. I stand by what I said last week. He is playing well. The guy who edged him out in Cartagena last week went on to make the final.
Would be great to see them both get some points this week, but with the big draw for qualies, still 2 rounds to go before the main draw.
Futures tournaments are supposed to be limited to qualifying draws no bigger that 64 but 10K events can apply to the ITF for permission to increase the draw up to 128.
Another win for Kyle, 6-2, 6-2 and he is into the final round of qualies. Due to meet the 10th seed, Dimitriev (1010)
However, Jack wasn't so strong today as yesterday. He dropped a game !! "You're slipping, Jack!". Still through to final round qualies though with a 6-0, 6-1 win. Due to play Giustino (755)
Great results. It's just a shame that at the moment they have to win so many matches just to grab a single ATP point. In Kyle's case at least that hopefully shouldn't be for too much longer.
