Went to Nik's twitter after seeing that score expecting an epic Nik rant smile

Seems though she had a few problems, but not enough that she doesn't still want to play the doubles.

"Lost 1 & 1. Wanted to withdraw before end of first but know they won't let me play dubs if I do that. #lovingmydraw!"

"sorry "retire" and was advised by "physio" to do so therefore knew they'd advise me ot yell me I cant play doubles too"

I noticed though Mel South retired last week in Oz from her singles and then played a doubles QF later the same day and a subsequent doubles semi final

Looks as if she was right to feel good about it and so close in the final.
