Seagull, I do think you are a bit over-pessimistic not having Andy down as in the second week of Indian Wells, as he doesn't even start playing until this weekend. Yes, I know he went out in the first round last year, but still. . .
Eaton didn't enter Bath and was on Sarajevo list, but maybe due to Dubs final today couldnt make it, WC to MD perhaps as he's not in qualies
That might explain it, yes. Sarajevo qualifying is not as week as Pingguo, but still, 12 byes, seeds down to WR 1115 (with the 4th seed ranked 396) makes this very weak for Challenger qualifying in Europe. I wonder if Boggo (who was also on the Alt list, I believe) is wishing he'd come here to play qualifying instead of going to Bath.

Yes, OEM reported yesterday that she has decided to stay on in IW until the middle of next week before heading to Miami. My guess is she was only intending to play Nassau if she didn't manage to defend her 50 points from last year's Indian Wells.

Hmm, maybe fair enough if she wants to work on her game or whatever. But re matches played she clearly only played one more match than if she'd been knocked out in R1, and will have nearly a two week gap from that match until her R1 match in Miami.
The fact that she's defended her 50 points I see as a bit of an irrelevance. Although we can get caught up discussing week to week points ( and I do too ), there is a bigger picture out there, and there are points to be potentially won in Nassau just as much as if she'd gone out in R1 in Indian Wells.

Well now you've jinxed it!
Oh @$*!?+$&!!! I did, didn't I! I won't mention it again.
James was just above Dancevic on the Alt list for Dallas and the Canadian is the top seed in qualifying, so hopefully that means he scraped into the main draw.

Bally will also have chance to spend time with Judy Murray in I/Wells to gear up for Fed Cup? Even though the likely 'team' will be in Miami for the Masters there's precious little time for the 'girls' to get 'together' otherwise ahead of the tie.
I'd guess there will be some 'scouting' going on too.
James Ward isn't in the Dallas main draw. It seems a bit odd that the main draw cut was WR 99 (crazy for a Challenger!) yet the top seed in qualifying was WR 175 - what happened to all the players in between?!
Hmm, seemed so crazy I had a little look. Don't know where they're getting that WR 99 from. 1) There are 7 non WC players currently in the 100s, 6 of whom were also in the 100s three weeks ago at entry list time. 2) WR 99 at entry was Sam Querrey and now is Karol Beck, neither of who are in the draw.
As far as I can see though there is actually still quite a big gap between lowest ranked main daw player, WR 128 ( Michael Russell ) and the top seed in qualifying WR 175 with a fairly even spread just below and above these two rankings. There were a couple of main draw players in the 130s at entry time.
Maybe once they are above WR 170, players feel qualifying for challengers is beneath their dignity
