Dan, Dan, the jet-lag man! ... I was half-expecting him not to be in the draw here after he dashed home from California (San Jose Q) to play Corby British Tour last week. Chris Eaton beat Redlicki in straight sets a few weeks ago.

I guess Dan not playing his R1 until Wednesday makes it much more reasonable him going back to the UK for the British Tour after his ATP qualifying defeat 10 days ago.

Still seems a bit strange, but I wouldn't see that he should have amy particular tiredness or jetlag problems.

Dan has played Fabbiano once in juniors (USO 2007) and once in seniors (GB Futures in 2010), losing in two competitive sets each time.

Dan is a set down but a break up 3-6 3-0* and there is commentary on radiotennis.com, though I haven't tried listening to it yet.

SF: (4) Dan Cox WR 393 beat (2) Thomas Fabbiano (ITA) WR 327 by 3-6 6-3 6-4 biggrin

FI: (4) Dan Cox WR 393 v (1) Peter Polansky (CAN) WR 264 (CH 164 in 2009)

Dan will be attempting to emulate Jamie Baker, who upset then top seed Kevin Anderson here to win the title in 2008. That, sadly, was just before Anderson broke through into the top 100 and Jamie got ill.

Sadly, that's looking unlikely at the moment:  he's just lost the first set by 1-6 (broken to 30 in the seventh game...). cry
