The one good thing about how rubbish this week has been around the world is that it's reminded me how often GB used to have weeks like this and how much rarer they have been recently.

R1: BROWN, Lucy (GBR) 570 lost to VAN DE WAL, Jaimy-Gayle (NED) Q UNR by 4 & 3 bleh

Lisa's had alot of tonsilitus recently ( seems to be an epidemic within the British ladies at the moment ) and of course it's Lucy's first tournament back after injury so expectations were low.

The other good thing about how rubbish this week has been is that next week ( the week that will count for this week's men's futures and wonen's 10Ks and 25ks ) among top 25 ( non retired ) players they are in total effectively defending 1 whole point  ( that from Dan Smethurst who has already defended it  plus Richard has added 3 and George 1 in Croatia with next weeks challengers still to hopefully add. And indeed Mr Murray !

So maybe we are just generally crap this week of the year  no

Will make overall ranking progress this ranking week with last week's futures finals and again next week in spite of all the disappointments.

Lisa and Lucy have stormed through to the SF - without playing a shot, they get their second walkover.

Is it possible to win an entire event by walkover?

Dont think you'd get any points for winning without playing a match tho :-/

That may be the only way they could win it, given that Lisa tweeted yesterday that she was going to be flying home today. (she's ill)
