RE: Week 7 Futures - Turkey F6 ($10K) - Antalya-Belconti - hard

Dan was 5-1 up so if anyone had a problem it would've been Dan.

Broady just tweeted

"Rained off court against the no.5 seed 6-4 down but 3-0 up serving. Come in to the room and the maid has left me a card and a rose."

Probably explains Dan's match as well.

De Greef holds to love so it's tiebreak time, Dan serving first:

1-0*
1-1*
*2-1 m/b
*3-1
3-2* m/b
4-2* m/b

*4-3
*5-3
5-4* m/b
5-5*
*6-5 m/b match point
*6-6 m/b

That's 3 times Dan's been a mini-break up but de Greef has got it back!

7-6* match point 2
7-7*
*7-8 match point for de Greef
*8-8
9-8* match point 3 for Dan

Yes!

L32: (7) Dan Smethurst WR 457 beat Arthur de Greef (BEL) WR 538 by 6-4 3-6 7-6(8)

Kindlmann, still lurking in draws unseeded, may well be his opponent in R2.

Liam did say he was  * 3 - 0 up, serving in the second set when it was called off yesterday so to lose the set 3 - 6 would have been very disappointing.  ITF score must be wrong, Liam can't be that mistaken !!

Sakharov won 6 of the last 7 games:

L32: Liam Broady WR 692 lost to (5) Gleb Sakharov (FRA) WR 384 by 4 & 3

L16: (Q) Ed Corrie WR 681 v (3) Riccardo Ghedin (ITA) WR 340 (CH 222 in 2009)
L16: (7) Dan Smethurst WR 457 v Dieter Kindlmann (GER) WR 657 (CH 130 in 2004)

... trying to stop the German KOing a Brit for his third tournament in a row!

Strange - the ITF drawsheet definitely says Sakharov won 4 & 3 but Liam says "Lost today 4-6 6-2 6-7 (5). Tough match. Wouldn't mind getting a few more matches going again soon"

Much better showing from Liam though, a few wins and I expect Liam to start moving up the rankings again soon.

Draw sheet on the ATP site (signed by the tounament referee) agrees with the ITF site. Very, very strange. I can only assume that these are errors that they come from the same source as the only other possibility is that Liam is lying about his score and that strikes me as being extremely unlikely.
