This is the fourth time Alicia has qualified for an ITF and the number of games she has won in R1 has gone from 0 (v Anna F) to 1 (v Gronert) to 7 (v Pons) - after those tough draws, she probably deserves a decent chance to pick up a point like this!

R1: BARNETT, Alicia (GBR) Q UNR beat NJUKI, Brenda (SWE) Q UNR by 6-1 7-6(7)

I missed the fact that Alicia had reached Sunderland 10K QFs (Nov 2011) as a WC as well as getting a point from that R1 loss to Gronert (that was a 25K), so this win actually gets her a WTA ranking

That's a real opportunity for Alicia - Cabaj Awad was thrashed by both Anna Brogan and Freya Christie in the Swedish junior events last month.

Cabaj Awad served for the 1st set twice and Alicia broke back both times only to lose the tiebreak.
