Is it raining in Doha? or something?!! nil on live scores. Anne was meant to be first up. - or is just a late start?

 It's a 12.30pm start - don't panic! smile

Anne won the first point

Unfortunately, Aga won the next 12

*0-3

Looked like she might hold serve there but unfortunately it wasn't to be. Radwanska playing really well, Anne playing some good stuff but not enough of it in any one game yet.

Some kind of arm injury seems to be hampering Anne - commentators heard Jeremy Bates asking her about it at the set break.

1-6 0-1*

Started watching at 1-6 0-5, and Anne actually looked in decent form, pretty much how I expected her to play, should have made it 3-5.
Seemed to be affected by a shoulder/arm injury, but must have had a bit of a shocker to get down 1-6 0-5 in the first place even if Aga was playing well. Shot selection seemed to be an issue as well.
So a bit of a mixture today, and obviously the shoulder problem is a worry going forward.

Final result: Anne loses 1-6 2-6 to Radwanska

Still a good points haul and no shame in losing to Radwanska who seems to be in a good vein of form. Hope the shoulder's OK.

It cracks me up how they decide when something is an "unforced error" or not. The fact that someone on the other side of a net has just larrumped a ball towards you with varying degreees of spin and height never seems to come into it.

I just think it's a good thing we didn't end up in the same group as Poland in the Fed cup, and am still amazed that they didn't end up where we are now.  Maybe it's because the sisters ended up doing all the work during those few days.

Yes, it probably is. In the play-off tie against Sweden, Aga did actually thrash Larsson 1 & 0, even more emphatic than her win against Anne today, but Ula lost 1 & 2 to Arvidsson and the Swedes won the doubles in straight sets.

The Poles may have been tired, but they only played two more matches than Bally and Anne, having only played the doubles in the one pool match where they weren't leading 2-0 after the singles.

Arvidsson and Larsson played doubles three times but, perhaps crucially, were completely rested in their final pool tie against Greece (not even playing singles) because they were already certain to win the pool after the first two days - even if they had lost to Greece, only the winners of HUN v BIH would have joined them on 2 ties won and Sweden would have gone through on H2H either way.
