It's only the second ATP main draw match Evo has ever played as a qualifier (and not completely unwinnable either on this surface), so I can easily see why Hoss, as one of his biggest fans, might be tempted!

Garcia-Lopez has had a fairly dismal time since that run he had in Autumn 2010. Last year he won only 3 matches against top 50 opposition (1 of those a retirement from Golubev at Wimbledon), the other two against Wawrinka (Madrid) and Giraldo (Paris). He also got thrashed by Kukushkin at the Aussie Open (4, 3 and 0) so if Dan plays at his best he certainly has a shot here.

That's very impressive qulifying, and certainly more significant then Auclkland 2010 when he beat WR 767 and WR 321 ( in 3 sets ) to qualify before losing to Michael Lammer SUI ( WR 209 ) in 3 sets in R1.
