Week 4 Futures - USA F3 ($10,000) - Weston, FL - Clay

Just in case anyone is wondering Weston and Sunrise border one another so there won't be a problem with the travelling.

Yes, must admit I didn't think there was any problem in playing singles or doubles of one tournament ( presumably but not necessarily qualifying ) while still playing singles or doubles of the previous week's tournament.

Phllips is a DA here. Once again the qualifying draw is a monster 128 man event.

QR1: (q4) Ed Corrie WR 720 v Finn Meinecke (GER) WR 1731

QR1: (q5) Matt Short WR 801 v Gordon Garrett (USA) UNR

Looks like Ed is playing his match here at 8:30 AM (local time) before heading back to sunrise to play the doubles final at 3:00 PM (local time).

I know you are not allowed to play in singles of two tourneys at once (for example, enter the qualifying of the next weeks toureny whilst still being involved in the current weeks one) Not sure about doubles

i always thought that you could becasue i remember people travelling between Surbiton semis/finals and Queens qualies in years gone by. Unless the rules are different in futures?

I believe the rule is that you can't enter two tournaments that are assigned to the same week but it is perfectly ok to play qualifying for a tournament that is notionally in the following week while still in a tournament for the current week as long as they are close enough together than you can cope with playing at both venues on the same day.

Yeah one year Tsonga won 5 matches in 2 days, 3 at Queens qualies and the semis and final at Surbiton.

In the last 18 days Ed Corrie has played 15 singles matches (winning 13) and thus far has just 1 ranking point to show for it. He has also played 6 doubles matches (winning 4), has had only had one day off in that time and has now played 11 days in a row. Lets hope that this week he starts to get more reward for his efforts.
