Morgan lost the 1st set tiebreak 7-3 to Bocko, who was ranked as high as 400 in 2010, but when I noticed the match in bet365, he had won the last 7 games (and 9 of the last 10) to lead 6-7(3) 6-1 3-0. The next time I looked, it was a retirement with all bets void - hopefully the obvious conclusion about who retired (given the way the match went) is the right one!
Hmm, assuming Morgan won, if I had a bet on him winning the match and it was voided I'd be a bit ****ed off.
I read philwrig saying the other day that he won a bet on a retiral and often ( usually ? ) bets stand if one set was played.
I had actually thought previously that if matches started bets stood, but surely if they've played at least a set...
I guess as long as the companies are clear about the retiral conditions. But if I'd bet on Morgan....

Confirmed on the USTA site: Morgan won by 6-7(3) 6-1 3-0 retired!
Ed is giving 8th seed Monroe lots to think about here - he took the 1st set 6-4, lost the 2nd 6-3, went a break down in the 3rd then won 4 games in a row to lead 5-3*. He is now serving for the match at *5-4 - or would be if there hadn't been a very long break in play for some reason.

Well done that man! These 128 qualy draws are crazy but when you get through it must give you an awful lot of confidence. I think Ed will be top 400 very soon once he starts playing full time.
Great for Ed. Just takes 9 wins in a couple of weeks to get a ranking point Well deserved.
At least a lot of the Brits have got something this week. I make that 11 that have at least won their round one futures, with 4 of the 7 that have played again winning through to their QFs.
Hopefully, some can reach at least SFs and get a decent points haul.
Josh Goodall did his stuff last week. Pity to read that he's bowed out this week with a recurrent back problem.
