Result was a lot more about Azarenka's play than anything else. Absolutely dominant. Heather looked out of ideas early on but was under pressure throughout. Some ridiculous stat that Vika won 85% of rallies with more than 10 strokes. Shame really.
Pity, was always going to be hard, well far too hard likely, but that's a bit of a thumping.
To be fair, Heather did get what I imagine is a hell of a lot of points for a 6 - 1 6 - 0 scoreline, with Azarenka winning 56 points to Heather's 31.
That's not far off percentagewise the relative points when Laura beat Anna Floris 6 - 3 6 - 4 ( 66 points to 41 ) in Q2, although in that case the game scoreline in no way told Laura's general dominance ( quite something to drop serve twice when you only concede 10 points against serve in the whole match ! )
But at the end of the day it is games and sets that count and Victoria was sure ruthless in winning these, just not giving Heather any foothold, in a way Laura wasn't the other day.

They played each other twice before, in 2008 and 2009 and Stephanie won in 3 both times. However Elena has a much greater ranking advantage than before so in theory....
