Not greatly here nor there for Bally ( a point ) but out of interest do the women like the men carry a zero score for a slam they have an entry position for that they can't / don't take up and indeed any other compulsories ?
Re Bally, yes, out of our top 4 she was already the one that was worst off for limited big or even moderate scores, only 7 in double figures this year and already having 1 as her 16th score.
That said, players will hugely make their rankings based on about their top 10 scores at most with the rest helping push just that bit further. If Bally is out for the rest of the year the main problem will be that she just can't add any more big scores whilst other big scores drop off.

RBBOT, any chance of updating the 2012 predictions?
All the competitions, and my first round draws spreadsheet are now updated.
If her surgery means Bally is now out for the season, I estimate her final ranking will drop to around 168 (she has played 16 events, so it won't be adjusted for the competition) which is quite a bit short of our predctions; shows the effect of not being able to ignore your weaker results from the 16.
Just two weeks to go and its all change in the women's leader board with djlovesyou the new front runner, just in front of yours truly (although I don't think my challenge will last unless Anne has a rather good week in Luxembourg)
The Women's competition ends next monday. I have updated the spreadsheet with Steven's predicted rankings for Monday 29th and with only Anne, Naomi & Sam playing, I believe djlovesyou is an unassailable position as our winner, but spots 2-7 are up for grabs depending on how Anne and Samantha do.

I thought that the year end rankings are the ones after the Tournament of Champions in Sofia, which would mean two more weeks of competition.
Having said that I've looked back at your rules and you do say 29th October. It does make a slight difference with Barnstaple in that week (though I would probably need Emily Webley-Smith to win the title to challenge for top spot).
Yes, I didn't realise they'd moved barnstaple back a week this year when I wrote the rules. I think next year it should be the week after the last 25k+ in Britain if that is after the WTA tour ends. Hell, if thinks go well, Sofia may even be relevant to the placings!
