Does anyone have womens doubles points defences for 2012? Steven is there a link yet to 2012 points defences?

Anne is 4th alt for Auckland and Heather is 18th

Any idea what the cut off for Auckland was last year? Any chance of Anne sneaking in?

Fingers crossed Heather can win a few matches here to keep her place in top 100.

No, the week by week lists for men's & women's singles will get done between Christmas and the New Year. However, the first singles points scored by any GB men in 2011 were in week 2 Futures, so none of the men have any singles points due to come off before 30 January, when there are of course loads due to come off.

In women's singles, the only GB points due to come off before 30 January are the Auckland points you have already listed above plus 30 points for Bally from Hobart the following week.

The cut this year was 90 so certainly a chance for Anne. However the competing tournament (Brisbane) has upgraded from International to Premier, which should attract a few more players to come down early - and hence the cut in Auckland will be affected.

Laura was originally entered into Auckland qualies but has now withdrawn, presumably though still hoping to be 100% fit for Aussie Open qualies.

Maybe she has other, pre AO plans........... she's certainly on her way 'down under' right now.

Just as long as she takes no chances.  This is a very important year for Laura.

Heather has had to withdraw from Auckland:

"Unfortunately i will not be playing in Auckland, because i sprained my ankle badly. It's very frustrating, but Auckland is one of my favourite tournaments of the year and I'm looking forward to playing it next year because i love the event. Hobart will now be my first tournament of the year."

It must be particularly frustrating for her given that she did so well here last year (and as a result has 86 points to defend) ... and if it is a bad sprain, she must be a bit doubtful for Hobart and even the AO as well.

Nobody ever claimed getting into and staying in the top 100 was easy ...
