Btw Emily was 5th alternate here, presumably intending to stop over and play here on the way back from Australia, but the 4th alt, Sirotkina, is the top seed in qualifying, so unfortunately that should mean it's not possible that Emily is in the main draw and must mean she has decided not to play after all or was only ever going to play if she got into the main draw directly.

Weel done to Tara.

If she could qualify and win one round in the main draw it would quite likely take her into the top 300 for the first time, which would be a really good mark to reach after some really good consistent play over the last few months.

A difficult ask.

So Emily is here after all, that's a nice surprise A tough R1 draw (but then, it's very strong generally for an ITF) but Amanmuradova withdrew from her last match, so maybe she isn't 100% either. (I say "either" because Emily's results in the last couple of weeks suggest she may not be)

Tara took a set off Kremer in Jersey last year and the 36yo was knocked out of her last tournament by a Brit, Naomi (it's taken me quite a few months to realise there's no longer any real need to put a B after her name to distinguish her from Cav when talking about current tournaments!), also in 3 sets.

Tara's FQR match has just started. Interestingly, bet365 gave her about a 70% chance of winning this match before it started, despite the relative rankings and the 0-1 H2H. She starts by holding serve to 15.

Tara broke to lead 3-1 but was immediately broken back and at *4-4, Kremer has 3 more break points, the second of which she takes
