Week 47 - Challenger (€106,500+H) - Helsinki, Finland - Indoor Hard

Of the four Brits on the Alt list here, only Josh Milton has turned up. A pity in a way because half the players in the qualifying draw are unranked Finns. Having said that, the top four seeds are ranked 166-259 (and Josh is in the section with top seed Delbonis) so actually picking up any ranking points here will not be easy.

QR1: (q7) Josh Milton WR 380 v George Bastl (SUI) UNR (CH 71 in 2000)

Bastl eventually breaks back, but Josh, after a bit of a battle, breaks again,  to 40 (courtesy of a Bastl double fault! wink ), in the eighth game of the second & will serve for the match: *5-3.

Josh faced a couple of BPs, but eventually served it out:  0 & 3. smile  The match to decide which of two unranked Finns will be his opponent in QR2 is still on court:  Kallio & Saarni are evenly poised at 2-6 7-5 *3-3!

Saarni it is who eventually comes out on top by 6-2 5-7 6-4 & who will take on Josh in QR2 later this afternoon.  Should be a piece of cake...

QR2: (q7) Josh Milton WR 380 v Jesper Saarni (FIN) UNR - 'after suitable rest'

Saarni served 18 aces and 7 DFs against Kallio and created 14 bps but only took 4 of them.
