Boggo's trained out of Tampa for a while now, with modern tennis players it's hard to call any place home right :)

Also as far a si know Boggo's not in the exhibition, he thought possibly JB got in through some connection with Lloydy.

Yes, that's true - a bit like the way Muzz lives in the UK part of the tiime, Miami part of the time but most of the time he's not in either.

3rd time lucky for Jamie then, but once again very close - and another chance to have a pop at Michael Russell, this week in R2.

Any idea what usual cut off for Oz Open qualies is?

How close is Jamie B to being accepted?

This year, the original cut for AO qualifying was 255, moving out eventually to 287, so Jamie should have already done enough to get into qualifying straight away, or at worst after a few withdrawals.

With the points that Jamie has been adding in the second half of the year, particularly with much more progress in Challengers,  he's setting himself up nicely to improve his ranking still further if he can have a good first half to next year.

153 of Jamie's 199 points ( in running ) have been added from Wimbledon on.

At the moment the ranking points for his CH of WR 211 ( from 2007 ) are 237 and the ranking points for WR 200 are 250.  I would imagine he will be looking to pass both these marks.

As of last night, Jamie was 50/50 of pulling out of his match with Russell.  JB's stomach muscle is very sore and in his words "has had a decent run to end the year".  This was a "huge" win for him yesterday and I know something he will build on for 2012.  He also wanted to thank this board again for all the support you have given him this year.  Jamie has had some tough times over the last couple of months off the court(relationship) and he said its nice to know people believe in him and have his back.  Take care everyone and talk to you later.

Oh dear. There have been lots of instances this year of a player beating a Brit then withdrawing or retiring in the next round, but I think this would be the first time a fellow Brit has pulled that trick. doh

Seriously though, Jamie obviously has to do what's best for his fitness long-term, especially when (as indiana explained above), his good recent form means he's got a great chance of making the top 200 in the first half of 2012 if he can get through it injury free.

Jamie just pulled out and his season is over.  Great run last few weeks.  I see good things for him in 2012.  Take care everyone.

Good to see Jamie getting back to where he was prior to that virus.

Would be nice to have another guy inside the top 200

Asked boggo bout the match, he said he was a break up in the 2nd, but JB hit back and played really well in the 3rd. Shame for JB that the season is ending as he seems to be playing his best tennis, shame for Boggo too as he's clearly been playing pretty well in the 2nd half of the year but it just won't quite click for him.
