Tehee! Our boys may prove unable to maintain their momentum, but at the moment, they're really asking some questions of the second seeds: 5-2* in the first set.
The boys first win will give them a ranking inside the top 1200.

QF: (3) David Rice & Sean Thornley defeated Ivo Klec & Jurgen Zopp (SVK/EST) by 1 & 2 (& even more quickly than Connor & Scott despatched the second seeds: 34 minutes & 32 seconds! A decent day's work for them! )
They will in all probability face J&J there.

Sean reached the SF last year partnering Marcus Willis, so has just covered his points, but David will be in profit.
Unbelievable! The young Brit WCs hand out a thrashing to the second seeds by 2 & 1 in 50 minutes & nine seconds! What an upset!
QF: Fabio Colangelo & Marco Crugnola (ITA/ITA) vs (WC) Connor Glennon & Scott Whitbread
Looks as though the boys are heading for another convincing scalping: they lead the Italians by 6-1 5-1*!
Never in doubt, as they say! They win by 1 & 2! They'll almost certainly face the Irish fourth seeds, Sam Barry & Daniel Glancy, in the QF. I hope OEM's monitoring their progress this week!

The fourth seeds it is after they see off Dan Cox & Timo Nieminen by 1 & 2 ( ). Since Connor & Scott easily despatched the second seeds yesterday, the fourth seeds should be a piece of cake...
Anyone else feel these matches are just tanks from the opposition, though?
The ease of the victories would certainly indicate that, but if that's the case, why the bloody hell did their opponents bother entering the doubles in the first place?
The Italians serving at 78% today and getting thrashed just strick me as dodgy.
I don't see any reason why the Germans would tank as Begemann was still in the singles and Moser is a doubles specliast but this was posted on Moser's website 08.Nov 2011 Not a good trip for Franky in England. They hardly have chances when they lose 2-6,1-6 in the first round in Loughborough at the most likely saddest organized tournament out there! Franky is going home tomorrow...
Perhaps this should be a "singles only" board? The constant bleating about the worthlessness of doubles is one reason why I'm loath to post as often as I used to.

Bad English, but I think I get the message! If that's the case (& since it's an LTA event, I'm quite prepared to believe it), shame on those reponsible for the organisation.
