QR1: (q7) Chris Eaton WR 361 v Antoine Benneteau (FRA) WR 747 (CH 718 in Aug)
Antoine is world no. 53 Julien's younger brother by 4.5 years. The other seed in Chris's section is (q3) Peter Polansky (CAN) WR 334 (CH 164 in 2009)
Oddly (and somewhat disappointingly!), neither Baker nor Boggo are in the draw and Jamie can't have scraped into the main draw, I don't think, because Smyczek, the top seed in qualifying, was two places above him in the Alt list.

Hmm, the plot thickens - Smyczek was actually the 2nd alternate and since then, two of the original main draw direct acceptances have pulled out (according to MTF), so Smyczek having to play qualifying makes no sense at all.

Strange - I did wonder (given what I wrote above about the withdrawals), if whoever put the alternates list on MTF got it slightly wrong and Jamie would be in the main draw, but didn't really expect it to come true

QR2: (q7) Chris Eaton WR 361 v Takanyi Garanganga (ZIM) WR 604
Garanganga has reached four Futures semis this year (W 1 L 3) but lost one of them 0 & 1 to Dan Cox in Texas in March. He got past Roshan on a retirement today.

Chris was actually a break up in the first set, but I had no time to post, as I suddenly became very busy at work! Pleased to get home to find that he'd actually managed to turn it round.
