Other seed in Liam's quarter went out in the first round so he will have a very winnable QF.

Another one of Stircrazy's favourite tennis player names, I imagine wink

Just found out that Radio Tennis have been covering this event since yesterday, so there should be commentary available on Liam's QF from 15.00 GMT.

Wow!  Your fingers really got in the way of your typing there, Steven! disbelief

And you certainly ain't wrong about Mr Banes' (un)Christian name!  Once upon a time, I'd have said "only in America...", but the Aussies can give the Yanks a run for their money!  "Maverick" must be one of the latest trendy names.  I read Rick Broadbent's article on "The greed creed:  We'lldoanythingandwemeananythingforcash.com" (inspired by the renaming of Sid, sorry, St James' Park by a desperate Mike Ashley & charting the rise & rise of sponsorship in sport) on the train on the way in this morning & there's apparently a teenage motorcyclist over there called Maverick Viñales! disbelief

I stumbled across another little whizzer the other day, too:  Trent Broach!   Guess his nationality. wink  According to the ATP, he's 29 & "inactive".

This is fun, I share a light-hearted dislike for silly names - the poor kids have to live with it. See the following tennis players with IPINs (all US of course):

McCarton Ackerman

Lone Straney

Blaze & Tighe Keating

Burke Marold

If you think that's bad, check out these "awesome" names, and see if you can guess my themes (and no I'm not making this up):

Duece Shreve (Louisiana)

Serve Petro (Massachusetts)

Smash Nash (Seattle)

Volley King (3 females in America)

and my favourite........

......Racquet Crosspointe (Virginia)

Like I said, "awesome".

The commentary started a bit late but it's on now - Liam is *2-4 down, not happy about the bounce (Ken says they're some of the nicest green clay courts he's seen and Liam only started complaining once he started losing, he seems to be firmly on the Aussie's side as a result)
