Alex eventually loses the first set by 2-6 & has just been broken in his opening service game in the second.   They're dropping like flies today... cry

Fairly dire draws for most of the Brits:

L32: (WC) Alex Ward WR 406 v (1) Flavio Cipolla (ITA) WR 80
L32: (WC) Josh Goodall WR 293 v (3) Andreas Beck (GER) WR 110
L32: (WC) Dan Evans WR 329 v (7) Jurgen Zopp (EST) WR 138 (H2H 0-1)
L32: (8) James Ward WR 157 v Peter Torebko (GER) WR 272
L32: (WC) Oliver Golding WR 754 v Matteo Marrai (ITA) WR 271

No sign of George Morgan after all.

well done to Oli but how are these draws performed? Are they behind closed doors in which case how come we cant "help" the brit W/c and qualies a bit more! Comparing with the current masters event in Paris where not a single qualifier or wild card faced a seed it seems a bit odd. Just asking?

Because that would be almost as bad as those Pakistani cricketers.

I presume you were being facetious.

Worth adding the minor detail that it would have been rather difficult for any qualifier or WC to have faced a seed in Round 1 in Paris given that all the seeds had byes through to Round 2   biggrin

Bedene has spent most of the year playing on clay so I see it as a winnable match for Evo.
