The boys, unsurprisingly, given their opponents, were not so successful in the doubles, but they had a damn' good go!

R1:  (1) Marcus Daniell & Jose Statham (NZL/NZL) WR 968 defeated Richard Gabb & Toby Martin UNR by 6-4 5-7 [10-5]

R2:  (5) Hiroyasu Ehara (JPN) WR 562 vs Toby Martin WR 1061

R2:  Richard Gabb WR 978 vs Nathan Willis (AUS) WR 1525 or (more likely) (3) Michael Look (AUS) WR 398

A tall order for both lads (unless Willis beats Look! )! hmm

Hoping for some wins. This place is ripe for the puns.

Richard got a lot closer to pulling off the upset than I had dared hope:

L16: Richard Gabb WR 975 lost to (3) Michael Look (AUS) WR 394 by 6-4 6-7(8) 6-3

For the record, Look's the highest seed left in the draw! hmm

Look has completed the double Brit bash 4&4

Edit: that's not the first time a result has been posted twice within 40 seconds, obviously, but possibly the first time it has happened at 2.15 in the morning for a match nobody had stayed up specifically to follow or wait for the result of. biggrin (at least, I hadn't!)

I think Look has now won 9 of his last 10 against Brits.

No, I've been waiting for Mel's result but I'm guessing it's gone to three sets. Also waiting to see who Boggo will play next.

Yes, that's the most interesting one, I imagine it must have gone long. Nearly 3 hours now, so a result must be due soon, but who knows when they'll tweet it. Still got a couple of hours work to do (I got a bit TOO sidetracked with the tennis when Naomi B's epic match was on! LOL) so hopefully all will have become clear by the time I finish.

I think I'm hoping for Kudla to take Devvarman out ... and as I write that ...
