Gutted about the draw, don't mind matches between my faves come the latter stages of the week but not in the R1/R2.
Jo was primed to do some damage having come through qualies impressively but now has to play Laura. Tough one for Laura straight off the bat as she doesn't seem to like to play Jo. Probably will be a bit ring rusty as well and hasn't got great memories of this tournament. I would still say 65/35 in Laura's favour as she has a very good record of turning round recent losses.
Hev should beat Mandy bar a freak occurence to set up the matchup against Jo/Laura.
I noticed they're playing all R1 matches tomorrow so all R2 matches will be played on Wednesday which means there must be a Saturday finish.
It looks as if Maza is primed for a Wednesday appearance so will be interesting to get his comments about the R2 matchups.
Hopefully someone somewhere will get there tomorrow to give us some sort of report/ score updates.

This tournament has been been moved back a few weeks from last year and the year before which has resulted in a much stronger draw as it doesn't clash with a WTA event, so matchups for all the GB players are either tricky/tough. I think if we could get 4 through to R2 that would be a decent return.

Yasmin originally had a main draw Wild Card but must have pulled out quite late with the WC going Mandy and giving her the pleasure of facing Heather in R1 of the main draw.

On current form Tara has a great shot at an upset, her opponent is woefully out of form.

Yes, like Phil, I don't like that particular R1 match-up and potential R2  match-up at all.

Heather clearly seeded to do well, and Laura and JoKo have been in decent form, though pity about JoKo's blow-out last week.

Ok, they may have played not so well or gone up against good opponents and lost early anyway, but I won't like seeing all these potential points being lost through matches among themselves in that bottom one eighth of the draw with just one reaching the quarter finals and 30 points, whereas 14 points for a R2 exit won't even register for Heather and I would hope in time won't register either for Laura.

Not saying that a Heather vs Laura match in particular, if we get there, won't be rather intriguing     I hope Maza enjoys whatever turns out to be the match there and the other matches.

Has anyone been to a tennis event in Barnstaple? I was wondering what it would be like for taking photographs, i.e. good viewing places where a tripod could be set up with seating, also is there any natural light coming in through windows or is the lighting all artificial. It's just about within reach for me.

This is all I could find on the indoor facilities.

Good news and bad news, Laura is through but by retirement.

Looks like I'll be there to watch Heather v Laura. A reminder, though, that Joko is right there when she is at her best. Just needs to do it more consistently.

Further information from British tennis twitter refers to a stomach muscle injury for Jo, at least its not the thigh but still very frustrating for her.

Well, my reaction is 'Phew', but very sorry for Joko, such a shame she seems to have a recurring/ongoing issue.

(just read above posts, so it's not her leg it seem)
