Oops, the perils of changing how I was going to say something halfway through. That one turned out quite funny though

So close and yet so far for Jamie, in both sets:

QF: (1) Jamie Baker WR 271 lost to (8) Peter Polansky (CAN) WR 489 (CH 164 in 2009) by 7-6(5) 7-6(7) bleh
QF: (5) Chris Eaton WR 346 lost to (LL) Alexander Lacroix (FRA) WR 987 by 2 & 1 bleh

A week that started with so much promise here when all four made it through to R2 really petered out after that

Those results were QF's not last 16

Yes, not just here but worldwide, was looking really good earlier on in the week, particularly regards the top 15 British guys, but did rather peter out.

We had Super Wednesday when as Steven pointed out earlier in this thread all 10 of the top 15 guys who were playing won ( well including the Muzza W/O smile  ), 3 beating higher ranked oponents.

Not Bad Thursday when 6 of the 10 won. with one of the winners beating a higher ranked opponent and one of the losers losing to a lower ranked opponent.

But Sorry Friday with just Muzza of the remaining 6 winning, and 3 of the 5 losers losing to lower ranked opponents.

Was great to see the challenger wins on Wednesday for Boggo and Evo.  Not really rewarding though in futures points with 6 futures quarter finalists, but only Morgan getting to the semi finals where points become relatively much more worthwhile.

And so we are left at the weekend with a not unfamiliar refrain :

C'mon Muzza !

Yes, a good summary of Super Wednesday hopes getting progressively dashed!

RJA: Sorry, I carried that forward from an earlier post from someone else that had the same error in it - not an excuse, obviously, since I should have noticed and corrected it!

Jamie B: "Tough one to swallow today. Lost 6 and 6 having had set points in both sets. Wish I could say I earned some good money for my efforts!"

Eaton/Corrie won their semi final 6-2 1-6 11-9

They then went onto win the final 7-6(6) 6-2 :)

Corrie played both dubs final and his 1st qualy round in mansfield today so to win both was very good going
