3-0*. Dan has conceded just 10 points on his serve so far.

5-2. Dan was 15-30, but recovered with an ace, and went on to take the game.

Evo gets revenge in style then

From Mark Taylor, who's in Rennes:

"Fantastic performance from Evo, simple as that, wins 3 and 3"

Seems very good from Evo then.  Let's be having some more like this.

That's two very good wins for Evo in the qualifying draw.

His main draw possibilities are Jurgen Zopp, Ruben Bemelmans, Arnaud Clement and or Cedrik-Marcel Stebe. None of those would be easy but there are far tougher players in the draw.

Typically Evo gets the hardest (on paper anyway) draw

L32: Dan Evans WR 342 v (8) Cedrik-Marcel Stebe (GER) WR 102

He may be ranked 102 but I can honestly say I've never seen or heard of him.

Must pay attention in class...

It's the best chance for Evo to reach QF tho, Stebe the only seed outside the Top 100

Stebe has been playing well. Have been keeping an eye on his results.

And an interesting match, as he's another 1990.

Its the draw I would have wanted. Stebe is the guy who left a Brit very unimpressed with his gamesmanship in an Asian challenger earlier this season. Former top junior who disappeared for a couple of years but has found something this year. Hopefully, Evo has Steb's year next year!

It continues to astonish me that Evo can pull off results like today yet still play such stinkers in some Futures events. From what I have seen of him this year his attitude has improved massively yet his form continues to be extremely erratic.
