The thing is playing doubles should no longer be a massive drain. It's two sets and CTB maximum and no possibility of long games (due to not playing ads). If Andy was tired I really don't think he would have beaten Ferrer 2 and 3. You have to at the top of your game to do that.
As for Jamie, Polasek's win today means that he won't get a new career high unless they win tomorrow but it will allow him to go one place higher if they do win. It's 23 if they succeed, 27 if they don't. Having a ranking this high makes it an ideal time to try and secure a new long term partner.
Lol the mimimal rest thing made me laugh, it's normally suitable rest, which seems like a more suitable description!
It is possible that something was lost in translation or it might be that Andy's recent talk of strike action was playing on the organisors mind.
Or how about a subtle conversation between Andy and the tournament director where Andy hints that while he might return to Tokyo next year that he hasn't yet made up his mind and could go to Beijing. Then changing the subject completely he could discuss the subject of rest time betweem singles and doubles matches
First set 6-1
